  • The City Hall's plaza, Rabin Square (formerly known as Malckey Israel Square), is the largest plaza in Tel Aviv and the city's main square for large rallies, demonstrations and open-fairs.
  • 720 windows on each of the south and north facades.
  • Despite the fact this building serves as the City Hall of Tel Aviv - Yaffo since its completion, it is not owned but rented by the city.
  • This edifice is one of Tel Aviv's most recognized, yet least liked buildings. Due to its central location, large square, relative height and size it is a familiar sight in the city.
  • The late Yitzhak Rabin, Israel's Prime Minister, was assassinated by an extremist at the end of a Peace Rally in this building's parking lot, on the evening of November 4th, 1995. The large squre in front of the City Hall is now named after him.
  • The design was chosen after it won first prize in a competition held in 1957.
  • The elevated pedestal, connecting to Rabin Square, is 3.5 meters above street level.
  • On May 27, 2004, as part of a long-planned renovation process, which is due to be done in several stages, the asbestos-cement grid, which has always been part of the south facade design, has started to be dismantled for good.
  • The final piece of the south facade asbestos-cement grid was dismantled on August 22, 2004.
  • During the 2006 local parliament elections, held on March 28th, the building's main facade was turned into the country's largest screen, showing the elections edition of the Israeli Channel 10 news.
  • The windows are opened by sliding the pane downwards on external rails.
  • On October 15th 2004, as part of the city's 95th anniversary, the main facade of the building was turned into a giant 3,200 sq metre presentation wall for the Tel Aviv Profile exhibition, displaying portraits of 240 VIPs from the city's history, designed by 200 local artists. The presentation was removed in late December.
  • Has a connection with Gan HaYir Tower=Gan HaYir Tower].
