Faits

  • The original Commodore Hotel was named for "Commodore" Cornelius Vanderbilt.
  • A renovation by Hyatt Hotels and the Trump Organization was undertaken in 1980 by Der Scutt of Swanke Hayden Connell Architects in association with Gruzen & Partners.
  • The architects left the exterior bricks of the Commodore in place, covering them with the reflective glass skin of the Grand Hyatt.
  • Although the hotel reflects a modern aesthetic, the ballroom retains the original historic design.
  • The hotel has 138 different room configurations and 35,000 square feet of meeting space.
  • The elevator numbering does not reflect the actual floor count. Although the elevator indicates there are 35 floors, the actual floor count is 26.
