-Berlin-Britz Cross Dipole Antenna was a skywave mediumwave broadcasting antenna used for broadcasting the program of RIAS 1 ( after 1993 of Deutschlandradio) at
night times on 990 kHz. It allowed its better reception in former GDR at night times than the mast antennas did.
The antenna consisted of two horizontal dipoles arranged in a cross, which were mounted on 5 30.5 metres tall grounded guyed steel tube masts.
On December 31st, 1995, this very well working antenna had to be shut down as its usages violated the limits for radiation level in the areas nearby, but remained unused on the site.
In 2004 it was demolished.
