Faits

  • Built on an angled site, with entrances on three sides. Each entrance is below a pair of Doric columns spanning floors two through four.
  • The two-story rooftop penthouse is topped by the frame of a small dome.
  • The facade is white terra-cotta over a granite base, and is adorned with a frieze decorated by anthemion antefixes.
  • The structure incorporates the two-story Wonderly Building from 1890, plus a two-story addition from 1915 and 1916. Eleven stories were added between 1921 and 1927.
  • Named after politician Frank D. McKay, who bought the building in the Great Depression after the bank closed.
